I wasn't searching for anything
On a site, I kept looking and looking
Looking for perhaps a special lady to get to know
As I typed, my fingers went with the flow.
Suddenly, her name caught my eye
I could not stop browsing her profile
Of all the nicknames on the entire web world
She went by the name of Joygirl.
She had no pictures for me to see
What she looked like, if she was pretty
I wrote her a note, hoping for her reply
When my mailbox flashed, my heart began to fly.
From there started a wonderful correspondence
With each letter, she gave me more confidence
I want to meet her in person, and ask her to dance
Hoping that our connection will be greater than a trance.
One morning, I read her letter, asking me how my weekend went
Attached with it, was a file that included her picture
My eyes gleam, I smiled blissfully, as I stared at her
Blonde hair, wild green eyes, and her beauty that she sent.
With time I told her many personal, intimate, and great things
She allowed me to express a side of myself I was not having
Suddenly, the walls I built around me, bigger than a coliseum
Came crashing down harder than the beats of a thousand drum.
One day because of me, she was sad, hurt and angry
For what I have done to her, she had every right to be
I realized I lost her, leaving in total disarray
To get her back, I would go inside the biggest fray.
When she sent me a nice card, as I read with eyes full of tears
She made me smile again and conquer my greatest fears
She is indeed the most beautiful woman in the world
She went by the name of Joygirl.
