I breathe hope.
Anticipation, excitement, renewed faith.
My breath is shorter, my gasps are louder, my concentration is interrupted.
I finally met you. Did you feel it?
Was it you or was it me?
Had I been ready before?
Would I have known you before?
Could I have appreciated you before?
Would I have known me before?
Known that I could feel such desperation, such neediness
And at the same time,
Complete comfort in knowing you existed.
And that there was hope.
I had been complete before hope arrived,
Now, I feel an emptiness I had not perceived before,
An emptiness filled with the expectation and anticipation of your arrival.
Never to awake.
