For the Purple of Love

Pain is perfections price
Hurt is affections life
Love is sweet agony
Pleasure is tragedy
Draining emotions dry
Chasing what makes us cry
Pledging for bliss wed die
Decades have slipped away
Traded for hours of play
Humans are foolish still
Dying for what they feel
True love hath high a cost
Selfish desires are lost
Riches for love are tossed
Man for his lady lives
All that he owns hed give
Vowing to spend his years
Loving his wedded dear
Thereby her heart is won
They are forever one
Breathing in unison
Simple, the couple thought
Purchasing love for nought
Seemingly all was well
Sweet as a fairytale
But, when their trials came
Romance went down the drain
Tears wet their candles flame
Shattered by spirits maimed
Broken their hearts became
Sorrow is thus defined:
Key to the heart, declined
Nothing can take loves place
Nothing can fill its space
Cry now for tears youve chased
Why then doth man revert
Charmed by harm, flirt with hurt?
Why, seeing that love is flawed
Still wish in love to fall?
Love offers sweet embrace
Flatters the common placed
True love endures disgrace
Thoughtful and always kind,
Love can make life sublime
Knowing that just for me
Love can forever be
Pain is perfections price
All want the perfect life
Love gives us strength to fight
Failures of lovers read
Mindful of fears and dread
Love makes us plunge ahead
Life without Love is dead.
Love despite what one lacks
Love when youre being attacked
Love without holding back
Love and forgive the act
Love when youre not loved back
Love is its own reward
Love wins its every war
First it must break both hearts
Then gather all the parts
Then form a single heart
Love is insanity
Private to you and me
Weve suffered great a loss
Weve paid perfections cost
Now may there always be
Bliss between me and thee
Now we have history.
