Never Holding Back

Youve heard it before,
That things cant be this good,
But they can, because they are.
Weve always done our part,
Giving us the chance by living through one another,
Not for personal needs, but for each other.
Realizing the road is a long one,
But never hurrying to reach the end.
Always pausing to exchange thoughtful gestures,
Flowers here, a soft kiss there,
Breathing the same air,
Doing the little things that make us care,
Expecting nothing in return.
The foundation has been layed.
Our love being the fortress,
The walls consisting of unbridled compassion,
A secure place where we can be ourselves.
Trust is a must,
So open those wings and fly.
Lets become who we were meant to be,
Never closing our ears nor our minds.
Never holding back,
Never looking back,
Always there to share.
We live by our love and will die for it.
Sharing pain only brings us closer together.
Thats when we knew,
That what we have,
Is so special,
It will never end.
