When we first met, I indirectly made fun of you,
I did not know what others knew,

I wondered why for you they cared,
I figured no such love could be true,
I always wondered what they had shared,
I did not know that you were you.
I’ve only known you to be taken,
I never thought hope could renew,
Only wishing that I was mistaken,
I did not know that you were you.
You told me you didn’t want to hurt me,
I said that there was nothing I wouldn’t do,
To my heart; I gave you the key,
I did not know that you were you.
Alawys a secret; always discrete,
There only should ever be two,
With you I see how bad I cheat,
I did not know that you were you.
I’ve made mistakes, some that can’t be compared,
You told me my love would hurt me, hurt you,
I said that all the pain could be bared,
I did not know that you were you.
Love at first site can not be true,
When we first meet, I felt nothing new,
For you I feel, only you will do,
Now I know true love, now I know you.
