Pirates buried their jewels and coins
Securing them from theft,
Returning after time had passed,
To gather what they left.
But stolen maps and faded minds
Had kept the treasures hid,
Until at last were found again
And shone as once they did.
Many treasures have I held;
Ones mine til I depart.
But here a once familiar gem
Anew has filled my heart
With feelings lost when I let go,
To take another jewel.
Memories now re-ignite
And new emotions fuel.
Oh diamond, I do recall
The times I gazed at you.
The facets, shape, the sparkle,
That feel that was you.
My fingers searched out every edge
I kissed and touched your form.
I yearned to be inside your crystal
Loving, soft and warm.
But memories are more than that.
Of these I smile still:
The fun of the surf, the sun, the trees
And skating down a hill.
Oh diamond how I treasured you
And loved when we went out.
The spectrum of experience
Too many now to count.
Though Ive discovered you again,
Ive just one jewelry case.
So how can I display your glow,
And gaze upon your face?
For now I must hold you afar.
Yourre safe beyond my view.
Yet now I find, my diamond dear,
I love you still, I do.
