We love each other more than anyone must ever know,
Ours is a forbidden love filled with exhilarating highs,
The happiness I feel when we are together is immense and irreplaceable,
But then there is the fear that someone will discover the truth,
Perhaps then we should part,
Before we do there are things I want you to know,
I want you to know that above all else I truly love you and I always will,
It breaks my heart to end this relationship, but Im so scared,
I wish I were braver and could stand up to our critics, but I cant,
I want you to know how glad I am that I met you,
I think about you every day and that will never change,
I wish people would accept what we have as something special,
But they wont, not in this world, not ever,
So as much as it pains me to do, I will end what we have,
Thank you for being part of my life,
Though our time together was short the memories are etched in my mind forever,
And maybe those memories could prove to be my curse in life,
For even as I write this I know that I could never feel for another what I feel for you,
And that my love is the greatest pain of all
