As the tear drops slowly begin to fall
And my heart begins to cry
I look again at your picture
And have to ask the question, why
Why did you go away
And leave me here all alone
Why did you not find the words
To tell me you would not be coming home
I sit here in silent memory
Recalling all the things that were said
Of how we would always love one another
And look forward to the good times, to be shared
I know now that it is all over
And we will never share that time, side by side
But still the dreams, wishes and memories
Are still there in the tears I have cried
As each day slowly comes to an end
And the sun sinks lower in the sky
The rays of the dimming sun
Seem to dry the tears that I cry
I can now look up to the sky above
And see all the stars that are shining there
For with the dimming of the suns bright lights
I see the beauty that is waiting to be shared
Shared with that special someone
Whom I know will one day come along
And build with me special memories
Put the words to a very special song
The song will be of friends and lovers
Who share a life built from so many good things
Like love, trust, faith and gentleness
A tune that’s carried on loves gossamer wings
Time will now still these silent tears
And the sadness will fade and go away
To be replaced by love, faith and friendship
Born from cleansing of the tears, that I cried today.
