Silence Of My Tears

In the still of the darkening night
There is no whisper of a breeze
My thoughts are of you
Broken only by my tears

Tears for what we shared
That seems to be fading too
Like the dying rays of the sun
Letting the night begin anew

I wonder if this is what is happening
To the dreams that we have made
Is time dimming the memories
Are the dreams also doomed to fade

Oh how my heart aches
As the tears slowly fall
Can my heart stand the pain
Until at long last I have cried them all

Slowly now I lift my face
For I can feel a gentle breeze
Did I hear you calling out my name
Or is it just the rustling of the leaves

For now I will sit here so very quietly
Gazing upon the awakening stars
I pray for God to always keep you safe
No matter where you are

I can only hope my love
That this is truly not the end
For I love you more than words can say
For you are not only my lover, but also my friend.

I will love you forever.
