A Heart On The Mend
by Brittney Nigh
I want you to go
I want you to stay
But to many things seem to be in the way.
A love from your past
Your life moving to fast
Being left in the cold
Being told her words where to bold
For saying she cared more
For, it wasn't your heart that hit the floor.
Saying you knew what you want
Giving her just a little of you was a taunt.
She fell for the words that where once spoken
Not knowing it would be her heart left broken.
It was your heart on the mend.
And it was her so willing to bend.
So willing to be there
So you knew you had someone who truly cared.
Someone who looked past your faults
And would have taken them and locked them away in a vault.
Someone who tried to ease your pain
Not with motive or anything to gain.
Someone who reached for your hand
For she wasn't afraid of taking a stand.
For the love she felt would be worth the fight.
For your happiness was her plight.
She understood your pain
And tried to help you see not everyone is the same.
She wanted to show you a heart that would always be true
And not leave you alone feeling blue.
She wanted to see a love that could be
And hoping you would see
That love can set the pain free
It's your heart on the mend
And her so willing to bend.
But the pain was till to new
And her love could not reach you.
She doesn't want this to end or for us to part
But how can this go on when the other isn't willing to start?
