With Tears of Joy
by Matt Harden
With tears of joy I came to you There is no doubt there was love so true.
We stayed strong through all to follow, Why is it now I feel so hollow?
With God’s benevolence we were sure to stay, Oh what had happened on that foul day?
Confused as I was I made a mistake, Please have me back love -oh what will it take?
For you I would throw a rope up on high, And give to you -that big cheese pie.
I long to make good a fool I am not, The same mistake would tie my noose’ knot.
With all my heart I cry only for you, Laura my beau, can you love me again too?
Thinking of when we held heart against heart, It’s hard to live life when we are apart.
I must let you know that these words hold true, Let me suffer no more -yearn I do for you.
