Salvation

Till the day I met you
My life was dreary
Filled with loneliness
And making me weary.

The longing in my heart
For another to hold
Plagued my mind
And kept me cold.

The future looked dim
And I drifted through the now
I wanted someone to love
But I didn't know how.

You've taught me so much
How to show someone you care
How to comfort them in sorrow
To let them know you are there.

You've taken me to heights
I never knew I could reach
You've taught me so much
Without even trying to teach.

You've knocked down a wall
I thought would always last
And seen a part of me
That no one else has.

I've still got a ways to go
I hope you'll stay by my side
I know things can only get better
With you here as my guide.
