I knew that you would come
But as you know it’s been a while,
And now you're number one.
If you happen to break my heart,
Which has happened once before
I know that you will understand
And won’t do it anymore
I’ve been waiting for you,
Ever since I could speak!
And now you’re here, now you’re mine,
You’re the one I want to keep.
If you happen to make me cry,
I won’t let my tears fall.
A man isn’t worth many tears if he’s cruel,
In fact, he isn’t worth any at all.
I’ve been waiting for you,
And gee its been a long long time.
I hope you don’t hurt me the way he did,
I hope you don’t commit his crime.
I guess I’m saying that I really like you,
And that you're truly one of a kind.
I must be one of the lucky ones,
The ones that are not blind.
