I looked for you behind the tree
Your elegant beauty I could not see.
I fell on my knees onto the ground
Yet I could not stop until you were found.

I looked for you over the hills
The thought of your presence gave me the chills.
Yet no trace of you at all was there
My heart started to be filled with despair.

I looked for you across the sea
You were not there; it cannot be.
You were nowhere I had sought to seek
The lack of you had made me weak.

Yet when my eyes had stopped to find
It was then I realised the truth so blind.
I did not have to search for thee
For you had always been there next to me.
