Love used to be us, you and me.
Spending time together,
Making everything the best that it could be.
Love used to be togetherness that all could see.
Everyone thought we were perfect,
The couple beyond belief.
Love used to be so wonderful,
But now I cry alone.
Why it had to change will never fully be known.
Love used to be everything that is void in my life.
The hugs, the touches, the glances,
And the special someone who used to call me his wife.
Love used to be a life together.
But now my life is alone,
He is gone from my marriage and to another on loan.
Love used to be everything that will be no more.
He changed his mind,
And decided I was too much of a bore.
Love used to be something I thought I would never lose.
Take nothing for granted,
You never know what someone else might choose.
