All has fallen,
All has broken,
All is lost.
We had so much,
We had so little,
We had enough.
What happened?
It was lost,
Never to be found,
Never to come rushing back.
It will never be back where it was.
We can utter a million sorry's,
Look into each other's eyes
A billion more times,
Yet we know it won't ever be the same.
It has been burned
And put out;
Smoke steadily drifting into the blue abyss.
We will never know where it went,
But now it's gone,
Slipped past our lives,
Those two short months.
We spent so little time together,
And felt so much.
Now you say it wasn't love?
Then tell me what it was
When you glanced into my eyes
And smiled.
I know only what it is now.
It's too late.
Too late for redemption,
Too late for reconnection,
Too late for repair.
Too late,
For it has blown past us
In immense fury,
Leaving behind but a trail
Of dust and memories.
I remember it all,
From the dance
To the very last kiss.
The last kiss that left me with such warmth,
And now brings such cold.
So here I sit
In this bright golden sun,
Freezing.
Run cold from the memories
That the sight of your face
Brings haunting back.
It was the most I've ever had,
And now it's vanished
Like a piece of dirt into the soft sky.
The wind has come
And pulled it from its shallow hole.
Now it's among the clouds,
Forgotten.
So much pain,
So much loss.
So much love.
Too late.
It's too late now,
Too late for me to ask once more.
You love me, no.
I loved you, yes.
More than I could have ever said in a few lines,
More than I've ever loved before.
You taught me how to love.
And you taught me
That now,
It's too late.
My love for you has run dry,
As a river runs dry each winter.
I know that I loved you.
And now it's too late
For Love.
