Frequent is the heart Heavy the soul A burden on the mind And harsh on the spirit Every cell, every molecule Screaming out in torture Every single moment alone Reuniting is bittersweet The pain of pure joy Biting at every breath Clear days and foggy nights Happiness is fleeting and fluid Emotions are trials Sucking away at your consciousness Draining at your very being Replenishing momentarily Then slipping away again Holding onto sanity is a fantasy Though not far-fetched Hopes are naïve and reality smarts One second, one moment Just you, me, and all that possesses life An overflowing swell of love Flooding the senses Washing away the impurities of existence Bound by feelings so intense They are tangible You can touch them with your fingertips And caress them with your palms Then vanishing just as soon Leaving emptiness behind Up again, down again As time drifts by The rules are sometimes broken And the boundaries are uncertain Regret is often inevitable But, love always prevails.
