When I saw you across the room
my heart skipped a beat,
Your presence took my breath
and your touch swept me off my feet.
Your eyes were like the ocean so blue,
I knew from that moment my heart
belonged to you.
We have made our mistakes
and our past has left many scars,
But the fire you lit in my heart
burns bright as the stars.
I thought I knew the definition
but in the dictionary next to the word love,
I found your picture and a note
saying you were sent from God above.
So now I know what my heart
really needs and what to do,
I know it’s the right thing
to give my all to you.
