Waiting To Be Discovered
by Joe Legaz
I'm the monster under your bed
You're not afraid of yet
I'm your memories from the past
You always seem to forget
I'm your childhood blanket
That you always leave behind
I'm the sock in the dryer
You can never seem to find
I'm the broken seashell
You left abandoned at the coast
I'm the silhouette behind you
But you don't believe in ghosts
I'm the thought so sweet
You haven't thought of yet
I'm the one that got away
When you don't have any regrets
I'm the beautiful sunset
You cant see because you're blind
I'm a prisoner in your heart
You like to keep confined
I'm the angel in your dreams
You don't believe is real
I'm a piece of chewed up gum
Stuck to the bottom of your heal
I'm a cold day in December
In the middle of July
I'm the tears you never shed
Because I've never seen you cry
I'm the dog you never walk
Because you don't have a pet
I'm the man of your dreams
You don't realize you've met
Because to you I'm just the friend
You consider a great guy
The one standing by your side
And always pass on by
I'm the one you'll cry to
When he treats you like a jerk
But he's the one you'll go back to
Leaving my heart in the dirt
He gets to see the smile
That I put on your face
It's him that gets to see the happy you
And feel your warm loving embrace
And when you run back to him
And leave me behind
Until the next time he hurts you
And you need to share whats on your mind
Well I'm tired of being the lover you don't love
The cute one you see as a friend
And it hurts to know all I can do is hope
That one day you'll come around and finally discover me in the end
