While busy doing something else
Got a phone call out the blue
One day came to shattered pieces
As my thoughts turned to you
So happy that you didn't suffer
That's a real good thing, I suppose
If you could have chose the path to exit
That's the way you would have chose
Now you have gone to the next stage
I'm sure you'll get to play your part
I guess we'll have to sit & wonder what
Happens to a kind, magnificent noble heart
You had a love for the simple life
Your beer, a ball, and your friends
But most of all you loved your family
Your son, and soon to be wife
Now you left a gap that's hard to fill
Forever there will be an empty space
We'll pass our time just wondering
While you already moved onto that place
This is what happens while you're making other plans
And we all get to busy, forget what matters the most
But I'm glad that you were a friend of mine
That's something I would proudly boast
I'm sorry we hadn't spoke in a while now
We'll have to save that talk for another day
Just know that I'm proud to have known you
And immortally that's the way it will stay
